Ingredients
- For Fish
- 4 darnes of rohu / surmai
- • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- • 2 tbsp mustard oil
- • Salt as required
- For Curry
- 3 dry red chillies (seeds removed)
- • 1 tsp panch phoran (cumin, fenugreek, fennel, mustard, onion seeds)
- • 1 medium tomato (chopped)
- • 2 cups water
- • ½ tsp turmeric powder
- • 1 large potato (cut into wedges)
- • Few coriander leaves
- • 1 tbsp lemon juice
- • Salt as required
Instructions
- Fish
- Take the darnes of fish and marinate them with salt and turmeric.
- Keep aside for 20 minutes.
- • Now heat oil in a large pan and fry the fish for 4-5 minutes on each side.
- Remove the fish from the pan and keep aside
- Curry
- In the same pan, add dry red chillies, panch phoran and let
- them splutter.
- • Add tomatoes and sauté till oil separates. Now add 2 cups water and
- mix well.
- • Add turmeric powder, potato, salt and let it simmer on a medium flame
- till the potatoes are cooked.
- • Add the fried fish and gently simmer for 4-5 minutes. Turn off the flame.
- • Lastly, add few coriander leaves and lime juice. Serve hot.
